A little walk after lunch during her weekly therapy day!
A little walk after lunch during her weekly therapy day! She’s been working so hard, every week for 6 years on this long stroke recovery journey. So proud of our girl!
In occupational therapy she’s been working on handwriting and independence like putting her hair in a ponytail by herself and using kitchen gadgets that allow for one-handed use.
In physical therapy she’s been working on side-stepping to the left and strengthening that left leg.
She’s got bursitis in her left thigh area from the hardware after her big hip surgery a couple of years back. We are trying to decide what to do about it but may end up getting the hardware surgically removed. We also have some decisions coming up in a few weeks about whether or not to surgically address her leg length discrepancy, so please pray with us for guidance and a clear direction on what to do! It’s so hard to think about another surgery, but we want her to be able to walk the best she possibly can and also not to have spinal curvature. We will see what her ortho dr thinks next month after her scheduled X-rays.
Thank you, all, for following Sophia’s journey, even these many years later. For us, it’s a daily experience but we know God is watching over her and we trust Him with all the details.
”For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.“
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
